How I got into it
I began running more consistently in my final year of school, when I wanted to set a better fitness example as a senior leader in army cadets. At university, running became a bigger part of my life and I completed my first half marathon.
Duathlon and competitive long-distance triathlon followed. Eventually, the training demands of triathlon alongside full-time work led me to focus on marathon running. I described that transition in my InStitchu interview.

The three-piece-suit marathon
2:38:21Guinness World Records: fastest marathon in a suit (male).
View the verified record →The idea
A conversation about running in a suit turned into a record attempt and a way to raise money for Movember. It brought a less conventional challenge into a sport that can become very focused on numbers.
Preparing for it
I worked with InStitchu on a tailored three-piece suit and tested running in it at City2Surf. The attempt moved from Sydney to Melbourne after illness disrupted the original plan. Preparation for Melbourne was limited, and the later kilometres became difficult as fatigue and the weight of the wet suit accumulated.
The result
I finished in 2:38:21. Guinness records the achievement on 12 October 2025. Australian Wool Innovation reports that the run raised $6,750 for Movember.

From athlete to founder and coach
The Marathon Clinic is where my running, coaching and product-building come together. I founded it around one event: the marathon. My role is Founder & Head Coach, bringing the experience of racing and preparing for endurance events into the way I work with other runners.
I want runners to understand why they are doing a session, how to interpret their training and how to prepare for the demands of their chosen course. The Clinic combines that coaching approach with free guides, a plan generator and practical tools for training paces, fuelling and course-specific pacing.
I used AI to help build the website and tools, while the training calculations and plan logic follow defined rules. The technology makes that knowledge more accessible; one-to-one coaching provides the individual conversation and judgement.
